The Kowhai tree in our front yard has become the local hang-out for the toughest gang of Tuis in town.
King Tui arrived about two weeks ago and his posse showed up over the last few days.
They’ve numbered close to double figures, although it’s hard to actually be sure as it seems Tuis are about the most active native bird you’re ever likely to meet. They just can’t sit still. Much like my kids.
